Who is this drum circle for? Grown-ups of all ages. For those new to drumming, as well as more seasoned players to have fun with their drum! No previous musical or drumming experience is necessary, and if you think you have 'no rhythm' then know that you do! You just need to rediscover it, and then enjoy the bliss that reaches your soul. We take it at a gentle pace, (definitely no pressure!), building skills and confidence while having fun in a relaxed environment.
Regular drummers will be able to build a 'repertoire' of rhythm patterns. |
What kind of drums will we be playing? Djembes (Jem -Bays) are goblet-shaped drums of West African origin, played with the hands, and are very popular drums across much of the world.
Are drums provided? Yes, you can book a place with a drum for the session. I have lightweight contemporary djembes which are suitable for vegans. Book your ticket to include djembe hire. |
Can you bring your own djembe? Yes, please do :)
There will also be other percussion instruments available, particularly for our 'freestyle' session. You are of course welcome to bring your own (acoustic) instruments of any kind - it's a great opportunity to play!

What time should you arrive? The doors will be open ten minutes or so beforehand, ready to begin drumming at 7pm.
What about parking? There is a free parking area at the venue. (It's okay to double-park if space is tight.) What do you need to bring? A bright smile and a bagful of good vibes! A drink may also be a good idea (the kitchen will not be available), and of course your drum - unless you have booked to hire one. Dress to keep warm enough. What time does drumming finish? This drum circle lasts for a 'generous hour', finishing just after 8pm. |

*** Eventbrite is an event management and ticketing website, launched in 2006. The service allows users to browse and book tickets for events, and for hosts to create and promote events, both IRL and online. The service charges a fee to event organisers in exchange for online ticketing services, unless the event is free. Eventbrite is a securely hosted website with the necessary data protection protocols in place.
Eventbrite brings me an efficient booking system, so I know who to expect, how many chairs to set out, how many drums to bring, etc, and also allows me to easily communicate with you if anything changes. Some circles/sessions are online payment only, some are cash only, and for some both options are available to you. |
