ENERGISING, FOCUSSING & LOADS OF FUN!
For grown-ups of all ages. For those new to drumming, for rusty returners, and seasoned players too.
We include bells, shakers and other small percussion instruments, as well as voices, for a rounded experience of West African style music-making, weaving rhythm patterns together to create some magic!
No djembe? No problem! DJEMBE HIRE for the sessions is currently free of charge. Pre-booking is required.
NEW DRUMMERS are always made very welcome, and will soon be in the groove!
Please get in touch with Suzanne for more information and to register. (Sorry, no drop-ins.)

What do you need to bring? A bright smile and a bagful of good vibes! A drink may also be a good idea (the kitchen will not be available), and of course your drum - unless you have booked to hire one. Dress to keep warm enough in colder weather.
All dates are fully intended but obviously depend on favourable circumstances and a sufficient number of drummers. If a session needs to be cancelled, you will be notified by email.
Dates ahead for all sessions, circles and events can be found on the QUICK CALENDAR page

- connect to the beat and with some rhythmic fun and games
- learn techniques and bring the different 'voices' from the djembe drum
- learn to play both contemporary and traditional West African and other world rhythm patterns
- weave rhythms with other drummers and learn sequences
- play formatted 'pieces' to create something quite magical together
- add in other percussion instruments, body percussion, and our voices to really get the groove on the move!
- enjoy the many benefits that group drumming brings to our health and well-being on all levels

The main focus is on enjoyment, (definitely no pressure!), building skills and confidence while having fun in a relaxed environment.
Regular drummers will develop their sense of rhythm and timing, as well as dexterity, co-ordination, stamina and focus, and will acquire some 'go to' familiar beats to play with confidence as the season progresses. |
DJEMBES on FIRE! Monthly on Wednesdays at 1.30pm in EAST BRENT
This is a FAST PACED learning and practise session for regular Rhythm Harmony djembe drummers with a few beats already in the bag, wanting to take their djembe journey a step further!
The main aim is to have fun, but also to develop technique, co-ordination, timing, focus, stamina, formatting, and teamwork. And to learn additional more complex rhythm patterns that would not be appropriate at the usual regular Djembe Drumming sessions, adding extra spice and excitement to your playing.
Much of what we learn will be 'transferable' to the regular Djembe Drumming sessions that take place in Burnham-on-Sea and Wookey.
Please get in touch if you would like to join this group. These sessions have a limited number of spaces, keeping the playing time focussed and productive.
